DASH - Transport & Befriending

The District of Ashburton Surgery Helpline is a volunteer run local service to help people remain independent even if they can't drive.

The can help with:

  • Taking you to Surgery or Hospital appointments.
  • Taking you to other appointments e.g. lunch clubs, hairdresser.
  • Collecting medication for you.
  • Providing you with befriending, which is making regular contact for a cup of tea and chat if you can't get out to meet people any more.

Although the service is volunteer run, it still has costs such as petrol: therefore please don't be upset or offended if you are asked to make a small contribution to these costs. Please give what you can but also don't be put off contacting DASH for help if you need it: they will always try to help you as much as possible.

To make an enquiry or arrange any of the options above please ring DASH on 01364 653335 and leave a message, being sure to leave your name and telephone number so they can ring you back.
